EESTEC events are the pride and joy of our organization. These events are where people exchange ideas, form lifelong bonds and experiences and pass on our values and traditions.
Our organization has organized a variety of events since its formation in the 80s, including workshops, exchanges and more modernly - Operational Events and Motivational Weekends.
Official EESTEC events are: Congresses, Operational Events, Workshops, Project Events and Exchanges. Each Local Committee has to organize a valid official EESTEC event every 48 months, leading to plenty of opportunities for members to see the beauty of Europe.
Congresses are the most important events in our Association, where passionate representatives from each branch and all the Bodies of the Association gather to have important discussions and make decisions for the good of EESTEC. Hosted by a different branch each year, they bring together hundreds of EESTECers on a week-long event where representatives will evaluate past activities, discuss future plans and play a role in making decisions for the good of the organization.
Every year, two Congresses are organized: Spring Congress and Autumn Congress.
Spring Congress (SC), as the name implies, is organized between March and May by the Spring Congress Organising Committee (SCOC).
Spring Congress is usually thought of as the big Congress since the following points must be covered:
Autumn Congress (AC), as the name implies, is organized between September and November by the Autumn Congress Organising Committee (ACOC), by which time the Board-Elect from Spring Congress are officially the Board-in-Office.
During this Congress, a great number of things can be discussed and voted on, but what Autumn Congress has to include in its agenda is:
The representatives from each branch are a part of the General Assembly (GA), the highest decision-making body of the Association.
The representatives of the non-suspended LCs form the General Assembly.
Some of the best events that our organization has to offer, where EESTECers from all across Europe gather to develop their skills and strengthen their knowledge in the areas where EESTEC needs to improve or break new ground. Participation in all of these Operational Events is completely free for all participants. Participants are usually not chosen by the Organizing Branch, but rather by the Team/Project that is associated with the Operational Event. They are highly valued in our Association and create opportunities for our organization to grow, therefore they have an enormous impact on the entire organization.
T.O.O.L. - Topic Oriented and Optimized Learning.
Usually organized in winter, the main focus of Boostcamp is to improve the Committees in their local work. Based on the branch of the participants, this event will include various topics on organizational management (HR, PR, FR, Project Management). The Teams & Projects responsible for this event are the Training Team and the Regionalization Project.
Purpose of the event:
Usually organized in late winter/early spring, the purpose of Brand.Comm is to educate people in decision-making positions in Local Committees on the relationship between PR, CR and Branding, and some advanced techniques about them. In short, an event for all enthusiasts of Marketing, Public Relations, companies, promotion, etc.
Purpose of the event:
It is usually organized in late winter/early spring. During the IT sprint, motivated people from all across Europe come together to learn new hard skills, particularly in the IT department and how to contribute to the IT sphere of EESTEC. Participants attend quality lectures, enhance their creative skills, work on a project and meet a ton of cool people.
Purpose of the event:
Usually organized around spring, the purpose of the Design Sprint is to strengthen the Design Team, to share knowledge in the field of graphic design and work on improving all of the designs in EESTEC. Design Sprint participants will have the opportunity to attend quality graphic design lectures, share ideas, enhance creativity and work on design-related projects. They will also learn how to work in a group and bond, which will bring the whole team together. It is the ideal way to bring passionate designers together and create new ones.
Purpose of the event:
Usually organized in the middle of spring, CRedit is an Operational Event that equips participants with knowledge in all areas of corporate relations and fundraising. Dedicated to developing a fundraising culture, improving professionalism and strengthening your CR/FR skills, this event can be a springboard for new members to join the CR (Corporate Relations) team.
Purpose of the event:
T.O.O.L. - Topic Oriented and Optimized Learning.
Usually organized in late spring/early summer, this event is exceptionally unique and effective in educating and motivating many past and present leaders of our organization. The focus of the event will be the development of leaders who will then help the growth of our organization, both internationally and locally.
Purpose of the event:
T4T is an Οperational Εvent and the main source of recruitment for the Training Team of EESTEC. It is usually organized in the summer. The participants go through an intensive and life-changing usually 12 days-long training event. They will learn how to transfer knowledge, which methodologies to use, and how to deliver training sessions!
Purpose of the event:
Workshops can be some of the most fun educational events in EESTEC. With a flexible topic depending on what the Organising Committee wants to make a workshop for, they allow EESTECers to gain unique experiences outside the realm of just soft skills and organizational management. Workshops are free for all participants. They put an emphasis on selecting participants from as many LCs as possible and usually last almost the entire week, but depending on the type of workshop, there can be some special rules.
The most common type of workshop that is focused on developing hard skills. It requires 15 hours of academic activity.
A workshop focused on soft skills training sessions rather than hard skills. It requires 20 hours of academic activity.
A workshop that is focused on an advanced topic that is not suitable for participants without prior experience in that field. These types of workshops require 20 hours of academic activity.
Almost identical to a regular workshop, however it usually has some sort of participant restriction (ex: only female participants). These workshops are rare because EESTEC tries to promote inclusivity as much as possible.
Project Events are very unique events within EESTEC and quite akin to Operational Events, as they are associated with an International Project and organized annually, on top of the branch that is selected as the Organizing Committee.
LRMs are 5-day Regionalization Project events with the purpose of bonding the branches in a Region, discussing important topics, and sharing knowledge and experiences among the participants.
Ideally, every region (I-V) has its own LRM every year, and every branch has at least one representative on the LRM of their Region.
The purpose of this event is for the winners of all the Local Rounds of the EESTech Challenge Project to gather and compete in the final stage of the competition and expand their personal, academic and professional network. It should be noted that this is the only international event where non-EESTEC members are allowed to participate. The minimum duration of the event is three days.
The prelude to EESTech Challenge Final Round! It is not considered an official international event within EESTEC, though it is a necessary first step to determine the participants for the Final Round! This event is a hackathon that has teams of students (EESTECers and non-EESTECers alike) competing to solve a challenge for the right to participate in the Final Round.
SSA is an International Project led by EESTEC and its vision is to develop students' soft skills in order to reach their full potential in their social and professional lives. SSA provides a unique opportunity for further development of ambitious students with assets of non-formal education.
Every local event provides training sessions on certain topics of soft skills held by certified EESTEC trainers, HR representatives of companies and other experts in the field of soft skills.
Live Board Meetings (LBMs) are events where the Board of the Association (BoA) comes together to assess the situation with EESTEC, brainstorm new ideas and plan the rest of their mandate in order to take our organization one step further.
These events are organized logistically by a branch while the content is prepared by the Board of the Association, similar to an Operational Event. These events help raise the international awareness of branches and, also, help them raise their organizational management.
There are three types of LBMs.
The Handover Board Meeting (HOBOM) is usually organized in July and this event serves as the first meeting of the BoA following their election at the Spring Congress. The point of this event is for the Board-in-Office to give a Handover to the Board-Elect, as well as serve as a valuable team-building and bonding moment for the new Board.
The SUmmer BOard Meeting (SUBOM) and the WInter BOard Meeting (WIBOM) serve as a valuable turning point for our Association because they are opportunities for the BoA to come together and effectively plan the next steps before the Autumn Congress and Spring Congress respectively.
SUBOM is typically organized in September/October, whereas WIBOM is usually organized around February.
These events are the bread and butter of our organization, and are a go-to for anyone looking to strengthen their EESTEC spirit.
IMWs are typically a weekend-long relaxation, usually either in a city area or in a more secluded resort/mountain. The purpose of these events is to foster collaboration and bonds between EESTECers from all across Europe and pass along many valuable EESTEC traditions (and EESTEC spirit!)
These events are organized individually, but also commonly after Workshops/Operational Events to give participants a chance to relax and enjoy themselves after a week of hard work.
Exchanges are very similar to IMWs, but usually last longer (5-7 days), aren’t organized after workshops and are considered an official EESTEC event for every organizing branch.
