This page lists all legal documents governing the workings of EESTEC as well as some of the applicable laws.
You find all our legal documents here. This includes the historical versions for reference (as far as we still have them).
The Statutes define the fundamental aspects of EESTEC, such as its aim and its Bodies.
The Statutes can be changed only by the General Assembly (GA).
You find the document here.
The official version of the Statutes is in English directly, there is no underlying German original, even though EESTEC's seat is in Switzerland.
Changing the statutes is done by a simple vote during a General Assembly. No Swiss authority needs to be informed whatsoever, no fee paid, and no lawyer consulted. (Unlike with the old seat (pre-2021) in Delft, the Netherlands, where the procedure was significantly more complex. Of course, this only applies to the international EESTEC, local branches are bound by their countries' laws.)
The General Rules of Procedure (GRoP) regulate matters less fundamental than the Statutes.
The GRoP can be changed only by the General Assembly (GA).

Everything you need to know on how to organise a valid EESTEC event. If you follow everything in this document, your event is valid and of good quality.

These contain anything else, including:

The Strategic Plan is a formalised road map that describes where EESTEC is going over the next few years and how it is going to get there. The Strategic Plan brings focus and direction to our Association and sets clear guidelines for our future actions.
The current Strategic Plan is valid from 2023 to 2026.

The seat of the Αssociation is located in Zurich, Switzerland. Therefore, EESTEC must comply with Swiss law. Most relevant is the Swiss Civil Code
You can find the currently in force version of the Swiss Civil Code in English here. Most relevant rules for Swiss associations are in part 1, title 2, chapter 2: associations. Important: All provisions in this chapter are actually just defaults unless they are denoted as mandatory provisions. This means that we can override them with differing rules in our own legal documents (e.g. Statutes). This is specified in art. 63.
Swiss law is set by the Swiss government.
